Stokke Xplory Review

The Stokke Xplory is the stroller in the Stokke family designed to help strengthen the bond between parent and child.  In our review of the Stokke Tripp Trapp, we talked about how the Tripp Trapp brings the child to the table to eat with the whole family.  The Xplory can be configured to place the child higher other strollers so that the child is closer to the parent.  The seat can face in or out, as well as fully recline making this stroller appropriate for newborns through toddlers.

The Xplory can function as a high chair for standard height tables when facing out and adjusted all the way up.  It’s perfect for when the restaurant runs out of high chairs.

My favorite feature of the Xplory is its two wheeled mode.  This can be used for going across ice or up and down stairs.  Steps don’t slow the Xplory down!

The rear wheels of the Xplory are larger and wider set than the front wheels.  The front wheels swivel giving it the ability to maneuver around tight corners.  The Xplory is extremely easy to push and steer on pavement.  It does not perform as well off road, it is best suited for smooth surfaces when in four wheel mode.

The Xplory does not have a basket like most strollers.  It has a generously sized bag that easily detaches and can hold a full day’s worth of standard baby supplies.  The included mosquito net and rain cover fit easily in the bag.

The brake on the Xplory is easy to engage and disengage even when wearing flip-flops.

In addition to the seat angle and direction being adjustable, the footrest adjusts to keep your child’s feet from dangling uncomfortably.  The seat rail with removable padding provides a comfortable place for him to rest his hands.  The fully adjustable 5-point harness keeps your child safely and comfortably in the Xplory.

With its versatility and adjustability the Xplory is like no other stroller.  It tackles urban terrain with ease and style.
